  • Aligned the local HACCP system with the requirements of the Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation (FDA)
  • Managed a project to automate the generation of COAs of bulk deliveries phosphoric acid.
  • Implemented an approval procedure for the implementation of changes to packaging & labels.
  • Evaluated the FSMS and QMS.

Guide customer audits. Perform 5S inspections and ISO 9001 internal audits. Maintain relationship with FAVV inspectors. Responsible for management of non - conformities and CAPAs.


Group Quality Engineer (9 years)


Assigned to the quality department on corporate level with responsibilities in:


  • customer quality
  • quality system management and food safety system management
  • product portfolio management (sirups, maltodextrins, starches, vital wheat gluten, polyols, co-products)
  • support European production sites and corporate departments (sales, customer service, purchase,...).


Achievements:


  • Evaluated, negotiated and confirmed general quality agreements of key customers (Haribo, Mars, Mondelez,...).
  • Defined and implemented a positive release protocol to confirm the microbiological quality of bulk shipments of vital wheat gluten to Kelloggs'.
  • Lead the approval process of a new syrup for Coca Cola.
  • Defined the internal starch product specifications for a new starch drying facility in France.
  • Was the food safety expert of a HACCP team assessing a new installation for the production of liquid dextr'ose in France.
  • Reorganised the internal food safety, environment and safety audit program to evaluate the European  starch processing plants.
  • Perform root cause analysis of a number of non-conformities and complaints. Was able to detirmine the root cause of the differences in the sugar spectrum of a syrup produced in 2 different production sites. Proposed solutions.
  • Drafted the general quality and feed safety agreement for the bulk storage of feed products by external warehouses.
  • Assessed and approved a contractor in Austria for the production of liquid dextrose. Set up the collaboration with the quality department of the contracter.
  • Trained the new group quality engineers during the phase out of the group activities at the Aalst site of Tereos.

  • Established and implemented actions and projects to improve the ISO 9001 based quality management system in both a strong automated and work intensive environments.
  • Implemented acceptance protocols for raw materials and release procedures for finished goods.
  • Assisted to customer audits of retailers (Carrefour, Auchan,...)


Production Engineer


Responsible for storage and conditioning of sugar. During the sugar campeign responsible for the evaopration department. Assist with the implementation of the IFS standard.

Develop recepies to produce new beers and optimize production processes to increase cost effectiveness.


  • Raised and coordinated a degustation panel (established and implemented procedures, selected and trained panel members, planned activities,...)
  • Developed an award winning beer.


QA Manager productiesite Waarloos (2 years)


Managed the activities of the QA department during the phase-out of the activities of the Waarloos production site.


  • Ensured the continuity of the activities of the laboratory.
  • Managed during a 3 month period a product quality crisis due to microcontamination.

Quality Process Engineer (1 year)



Initiate and Manage quality and food safety projects.


Team Leader (2 years)



Daily management of a team of operators. Steer fermentation processes.


  • Implement ISO 9001 in the department fermentation and lagering.
